We are looking for an experienced digital project manager to work within the Client Services team at Soapbox to manage a range of projects across the agency. It is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires top-notch organisational, communication and diplomacy skills to build relationships with clients and deliver successful projects.

We work hand in hand with our clients – mostly charities, NGOs, think tanks and research organisations – to communicate ideas that matter. Soapbox produces all types of creative output including print publications, infographics, branding, animation, websites and other digital products.

We’re looking for someone with substantial professional experience of working within tight deadlines and restricted budgets. You must have strong communication and people skills, and be savvy at problem-solving. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work alongside clients and colleagues to draw up project plans, proposals and budgets. You will take a combined account/project manager role, building the client relationship while you monitor project progress and report internally and externally to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed within budget. 

Duties and responsibilities:

–   Creating, updating and sharing project plans and timelines and communicating changes in scope, cost and timings, both internally and externally.

–   Ensuring all projects have signed contracts and billing schedules, updating and managing these throughout the process and liaising with finance colleagues to ensure timely invoicing.

–   Acting as a first point of contact to clients, staying in regular communication and building lasting relationships. 

–   Producing costings and providing advice either directly to clients or to assist in the drafting of formal proposals.

–   Ensuring all project information is recorded and updated in project management software.

–   Scheduling the time of designers, developers, and other colleagues, to work on the project as required, working with the rest of the Client Services team.

–   Arranging regular meetings with the project team to track progress against timescales and deliverables.

–   Reminding clients of deadlines and communicating any changes in schedule or implications of missed deadlines.

–   Handling and resolving customer complaints and referring to senior management if necessary.

–   Providing administrative support to members of the Client Services and senior management teams as required.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in a related field. 
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, and the ability to explain and justify decisions to clients and colleagues. 
  • Proven project management experience – running full digital projects/multiple projects in tandem within an agency environment. 
  • Experience of working in a client-facing agency role 
  • Experience of managing the schedule of an in-house digital team. 
  • Experience of working in Google Suite (docs, slides, and sheets) 
  • Strong commercial awareness. 
  • Working knowledge of the basics of web development 

Desirable

  • Experience of working with NGOs/Think Tanks/Educational organisations 
  • Experience of/understanding of Google Analytics 
  • Prince 2 or other project management training 
  • Sales experience, inputting into proposal documents and supporting client pitches.
  • Experience with project management tools e.g. Slack, Paymo, Instagantt 
  • An interest in current affairs and public policy

About the agency

We started out as a print design agency in 2008 but digital is now the biggest part of our business. Our other specialisms include branding, editorial, animation and strategic communications consulting.

 Most of our digital projects involve the delivery of an organisational website, but we also build smaller sites and other products, including our flagship online reader.
